NEIFT (North East Institute of Fashion Technology) is more than just a fashion design institute—it’s a movement dedicated to nurturing creativity, cultural identity, and innovation. Since its inception in 2007 by Vikram Rai Medhi, a renowned cultural curator and fashion visionary, NEIFT has stood as a pioneering force in fashion education across Northeast India.

Headquartered in Guwahati, the institute was born out of a simple yet powerful mission: to offer high-quality fashion design courses that empower youth from all corners of the Northeast to transform their passion into a profession.

✦ About Our Founder

Vikram Rai Medhi, a pioneer in Northeast India’s fashion and cultural landscape, has spent over two decades shaping the creative industries of the region. Under his leadership, NEIFT became the only institute in India selected by the Ministry of Textiles to organize the national Handloom and Handicraft Weeks in 2009. He also took the region’s textile traditions to LBSNAA Mussoorie, training IAS officers on Northeast India’s handloom identity.
